Head of Accounting — Strike

Role:
Strike is looking for a head of accounting to be a key executive of financial operations for our rapidly growing company. The head of accounting will provide technical accounting expertise, ownership and improvement of financial processes, and development of a high performing accounting team. This person must be an engaged, roll-up your sleeves leader and should enjoy a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Oversee month-end and quarter-end close process including journal entries, account reconciliations, flux analysis and financial statement preparation to ensure accounts are timely and accurately reconciled, reported and in accordance with US GAAP
Ensure timely and accurate financial statement preparation and reporting
Act as annual external audit liaison for all global audits
Prepare internal and external financial reporting for management and investors
Ensure appropriate resources and staffing of the department to meet business needs
Oversee special projects as assigned
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and CPA certification
8-10+ years of relevant experience
Experience in a fast-changing environment, with the ability to adapt and think quickly
Audit and Big4 experience is preferred
A passion for building and improving strong, durable systems and processes
Knowledge of US GAAP and awareness of current accounting pronouncements
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to explain complex accounting concepts to a non-technical audience
Strike is a remote-first company, paying competitive compensation based on market and location.
