Responsibilities
Define a comprehensive, 3 year technical roadmap to support current and future needs across the entire enterprise (product, compliance, customer success, etc)
Determine the ideal set of tooling to support implementation of said roadmap
Design an appropriate engineering team structure, one that operates across multiple continents asynchronously
Work closely with the Co-Founders to identify and hire key engineering talent
Subsequently lead the team once additional key hires have been made
Collaborate with the product team to continually identify and prioritize the staffing of technical resources, in support of the delivery of new products and features
Ship new software products, features and tooling on a bi-weekly basis; ensure that delivery time is in-line with the product roadmap
Establish appropriate engineering KPIs, in support of the commercial needs of the company
Provide regular updates and analysis to the Co-Founders — with specific suggestions to improve the development cycle, as well as support and maintenance of the existing codebase
Stay abreast of the latest developments in the broader Bitcoin and Lightning ecosystem — and share internal updates to all members of the company regarding noteworthy trends
Oversee all quality control of the codebase, and implement best practices for systems and processes (as appropriate)
Skills
The ideal candidate has both a computer science background, as well as experience in managing people
10+ years of software development as an engineer
Experience leading full-stack development, setting organizational goals, developing road maps and architecting complex systems — with the ultimate goal of minimizing technical debt for the organization in the years ahead
Demonstrated technical expertise, evidenced via well-designed, secure and reliable consumer products previously shipped
Familiarity with Bitcoin Core, and either LND or CLN
Proficiency in English (both written and verbal)
Positive and solution-oriented mindset
Ability to work in a global, asynchronous environment
