TD₿: Why Bill Miller IV is So BULLISH on Bitcoin - (a Coin Stories video) with Natalie Burnell
TL;DR: Longtime Bitcoin investor Bill Miller IV explains why he believes in Bitcoin, touching on company treasuries, overlooked stocks, future financial tools, and his take on the market and economy.
Hey Bitcoiners,
Bill Miller IV, CIO of Miller Value Partners, explains why he's deeply bullish on Bitcoin, calling it the most superior form of capital ever created. He argues that most of the world still stores wealth in “melting ice cubes” like fiat currencies, which are intentionally devalued by central banks. Bitcoin, by contrast, offers a transparent, auditable, and thermodynamically sound system for storing value.
Miller emphasizes the small global adoption base—only a few hundred million people out of eight billion own Bitcoin—and sees massive upside as awareness grows. He sees Bitcoin as functionally superior to gold, believes it will become the premier global collateral, and has personally held it since 2013.
He’s especially excited about the rise of corporate Bitcoin treasuries and Bitcoin-backed securities, viewing them as early signs of a financial shift. While he notes that mainstream adoption is slow due to career risk in traditional finance, he expects regulatory clarity to accelerate institutional involvement.
Miller also discusses his firm’s investment in Semler Scientific, which is sweeping corporate cash into Bitcoin, and sees these kinds of companies as models for future capital allocation. For him, Bitcoin isn’t just an investment—it’s a worldview changer that reshapes how people think about money, policy, and long-term wealth preservation.

“Bitcoin is a way out of our current system, which is exclusionary and unjust, and tends to prey on the weak and disenfranchised while letting the corrupt Davos crowd walk free.”

Senator Lummis Proposes Bill to Ease Crypto Taxes with $300 Exemption and Deferred Mining, Staking Liabilities
Senator Cynthia Lummis has introduced a comprehensive tax reform bill designed to modernize outdated rules and support innovation in the digital economy. The legislation proposes a $300 exemption for small transactions, up to $5,000 annually, with inflation adjustments beginning in 2026. It defers taxes on certain activities until assets are sold, helping prevent taxation on unrealized income and aligning treatment with traditional financial instruments. The bill also streamlines donation rules by removing appraisal requirements for actively traded assets.
Additional provisions include applying mark-to-market accounting for dealers and traders, bringing tax treatment in line with securities and commodities, and extending the 30-day wash sale rule to digital assets. It also ensures lending transactions are not treated as sales, improving capital efficiency.
The Joint Committee on Taxation estimates the bill will generate roughly $600 million in net revenue over the next decade. Senator Lummis emphasized the need for a fair, forward-looking tax approach and invited public input to help move the legislation toward passage.
Blue Star Capital Raises £1.25M to Expand SatoshiPay’s Bitcoin Treasury and Crypto Operations
Blue Star Capital has completed a £1.25 million fundraising to support its portfolio company SatoshiPay and its Vortex project, aiming to strengthen treasury management and enhance financial infrastructure. The funding includes £1.15 million raised through a placing and £100,000 from an oversubscribed Broker Option, with shares priced at £0.18 each. Of the total, £1 million will be deployed as a secured loan to SatoshiPay, backed by the value of the acquired assets. This approach provides Blue Star with potential upside exposure while maintaining downside protection through collateral.
The investment will support Vortex in improving its core functions, including price stability, liquidity depth, and asset deployment within secured protocols. Blue Star’s chairman emphasized that this move aligns with increasing global interest in companies operating in next-generation financial sectors and offers dual benefits to shareholders—participation in strategic treasury growth and support for an innovative infrastructure platform.
