Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Product Leader to join our fast-paced startup and lead our product efforts in the B2B payments space. As the Product Leader, you will have the opportunity to drive the strategy, development, and successful implementation of our B2B payments products. We are looking for someone with a deep understanding of the payments landscape, a technical background, and experience leading product teams in the payments industry.
Responsibilities:
Lead and own the end-to-end product lifecycle, from ideation to launch, for our B2B payments products. Deliver high-quality and innovative solutions at an accelerated pace.
Define and communicate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap, aligning them with the company's fast-paced growth trajectory and objectives.
Conduct market research and analysis to identify customer needs, industry trends, and competitive landscape. Translate findings into actionable insights with agility and speed.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Design, Sales, Marketing, and Operations) to ensure rapid product development and delivery, fostering a culture of speed and excellence.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, customers, and partners, incorporating their feedback into product decisions with a sense of urgency.
Prioritize and validate features using data-driven methodologies, leveraging user feedback, market research, and business goals to make quick but informed decisions.
Monitor and analyze product performance metrics, identifying areas for rapid improvement and optimizing features and functionalities with efficiency.
Stay at the forefront of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in B2B payments and fintech. Drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge in the fast-paced startup environment.
Mentor and guide the product team, fostering their growth and development while instilling a sense of urgency and adaptability within the team.
Represent the company and our products at industry conferences, events, and customer meetings, showcasing our agility, innovation, and startup spirit.
Qualifications:
8+ years of proven experience in product roles, with a focus on B2B payments and a strong technical background.
Demonstrated track record of successfully leading and delivering complex B2B payments products, from concept to launch, preferably in a fast-paced and agile startup environment.
Extensive knowledge of the payments industry, including B2B payments, payment gateways, financial technology, and related regulatory frameworks.
Strong understanding of the technical aspects of payments systems, APIs, and integration methodologies, enabling effective collaboration with Engineering teams. It’s a plus if you’ve done this within Africa with mobile money.
Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to identify market opportunities, define product vision, and execute on innovative solutions with speed.
Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and customers in a fast-paced startup environment.
Proven experience in utilizing data and analytics to drive product decisions, leveraging qualitative and quantitative insights to deliver customer-centric solutions with agility.
Passionate about user experience and design, with a focus on delivering intuitive and impactful products that meet customer needs in a rapid and dynamic setting.
Self-motivated and results-oriented, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment and embrace the challenges and opportunities it presents.
Bachelor's degree in a related field (Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or similar). An advanced degree is a plus.
