TD₿: The Art of Bitcoin Rhetoric: How to Meme Bitcoin to the Moon (a presentation) by Bitstein
TL;DR Memes are potent tools of communication that can distill complex subjects in a way that's easily digestible.
Hey Bitcoiners,
We are currently living in the era of meme warfare. Memes have the power to shift public perception and ignite social movements.
Whoever controls the narrative in our world of 24/7, near-instant communication has real power.
One of the most potent memes to come out of the last two years was “money printer go brrrrr” which poked fun at the ridiculous central bankers who printed trillions of dollars in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This meme went viral and spread to every nook and cranny of the internet. Suddenly, people from all walks of life, who had never thought about where money comes from or what central banks are, started to think about the money in their pockets for the first time.
One single meme began educating millions of people on the scam that is modern-day central banking. Not a jargon-filled presentation, not a textbook, not some central bank report, just…a meme.
Memes have the power to bring pre-coiners to Bitcoin in a simple way that delivers maximum idea concept.
Bitstein gave this presentation at BitBlockBoom 2019 which touched on how memes can be used to drive Bitcoin adoption (08/19/2019).
Bitcoiners are literally going to meme a new sound money into existence, and it will be glorious.
Tick tock next block,
Cory Klippsten
