TD₿: Swan Bitcoin Gift Guide 2022 by Kristin Thompson
TL;DR The greatest present you can give this holidays is the gift of freedom money.
Hey Bitcoiners,
It’s that time of year again. We are only two days away from Christmas, and it’s already the sixth night of Hanukkah!
If you’re scrambling to find last-minute presents for your loved ones, then look no further.
Swan’s Kristin Thompson threw together this gift list for Bitcoiners chock-full of ideas on what you can get that special someone who loves Bitcoin.
The piece above is full of some fantastic gift ideas. I couldn’t help but buy something off of it for myself as I read through it.
However, in my opinion, the best gift you can give to someone you care about is bitcoin itself.
Gifting a loved one bitcoin is one of the most effective ways to orange-pill someone you care about. Rarely will anyone reject a gift. In fact, they will often thank you for it.
The main reason that gifting bitcoin is such a powerful way to orange pill someone is because what you are really gifting them is “skin in the game”.
“Where your money goes, your mind follows”
— Robert Breedlove
When someone has “skin in the game”, it means they are invested personally. Now that a bit of their net worth is tied to Bitcoin, they are much more likely to stay up to date with the industry and take the necessary time to learn about it.
There is nothing that will get someone more excited about Bitcoin than seeing their own purchasing power increase as Bitcoin adopts continues to grow.
The goal of gifting bitcoin should be to get them to understand it and get excited about it. Gifting Bitcoin is actually just a “Trojan Horse” to get your loved ones to finally start educating themselves about it.
And, with fiat currencies around the globe continuing to be debased, there has never been a better time than today to gift someone some bitcoin. Your loved one’s savings are at risk of eroding away at a rapid rate from the ill-advised policies of governments and central banks. It’s time you gifted them some long-term protection.
There are several different ways to gift bitcoin, such as delivered on hardware wallets or an Opendime. But those options come with increased costs to buy the device itself, and recipients may not know how to use those devices.
Not to shill too hard here, but I honestly believe Swan has created the easiest way to gift bitcoin, especially when gifting sats to beginners who may not be familiar with the technology. Also, if you’re running late on gifts, the bitcoin gifted through Swan is delivered through an email, so there is no waiting on shipping.
So if you’re thinking about last-minute gifts, then check out Kristin’s list! And if you are really buying gifts last minute, consider giving them some freedom money through Swan Gifts.
I hope each and every one of you has a happy holiday.
