TL;DR: The world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange and its founder Changpeng Zhao are accused of numerous securities violations.

It comes as no surprise that Binance has finally been charged by the SEC for all kinds of violations, including misusing investor funds, operating as an unregistered exchange and violating a slew of U.S. securities laws. Here’s the Associated Press’ summary. The SEC also named some of the tokens listed on Binance as unregistered securities and added that the list is not limited to those named. Only Bitcoin has been deemed not a security by the SEC.
