Hey Bitcoiners,
I think it’s easy for Bitcoiners to get lost within our own echo chamber. We tend to lose sight of the fact that most of the world’s population has no idea what is happening with the traditional financial system or Bitcoin.
Only a tiny portion of the world today holds a large percentage of their net worth in bitcoin and understands it well enough to teach it to someone else.
Most people have no clue why Bitcoin is important, and they certainly do not understand what problems Bitcoin solves.
All they know is that life for them is starting to get more expensive. They know their paychecks are not stretching as far as they used to. They know the houses around them have become unaffordable. They know that the grocery bill is getting out of hand. But they have no idea why.
Therefore, it’s crucial to continue to make Bitcoin content geared towards beginners, and the more accessible and succinct the content is, the better. After all, according to a Microsoft study from 2015, the attention span of the average human has declined from 12 seconds in 2000 to 8.25 seconds in 2015. Believe it or not, scientists estimate that humans now have shorter attention spans than goldfish!
With this fact in mind, if we are going to captivate people while teaching them the Bitcoin basics, the message has to be straight-to-the-point and entertaining (think TikTok).
This is one reason why I love this short video from David St-Onge and Guy Swann that packs a ton of information in under 6 minutes. (06/19/2022)
