2012 - Bitcoin Magazine Founded by Two Early Bitcoin Enthusiasts
Bitcoin Magazine, founded on November 11, 2012, was the first dedicated Bitcoin publication created by Vitalik Buterin and Mihai Alisie. Alise, impressed by Buterin's writing on Bitcoin, invited him to co-found a magazine focused exclusively on Bitcoin's potential.
Alongside team members Matthew N. Wright, Vladimir Marchenko, and Vicente S., the magazine started as a print edition in South Korea. Buterin, a university student at the time, served as head writer. Bitcoin Magazine quickly became a pivotal platform, bridging technical insights with the broader Bitcoin community. Today, BTC Inc. in Nashville owns and operates the magazine, maintaining its influential role in Bitcoin discourse.
