TD₿: I Tried Hacking Bitcoin and Failed by Dan Kaminsky
TL;DR Bitcoin wasn't hackable in 2011 and it has only grown stronger since.
Hey Bitcoiners,
Bitcoin is the most secure computer network in the world. It has never been hacked.
In 2011, a prominent cybersecurity expert, Dan Kaminsky, thought he could hack Bitcoin. After several weeks, he admitted defeat and gave up.
Dan, unfortunately, passed away earlier this year. As part of his legacy, he leaves behind this article explaining his takeaways from his Bitcoin hack attempt (04/12/2013).
Bitcoin’s security has only increased since Dan’s failed attempt to hack the system.
Whatever doesn’t kill Bitcoin only makes it stronger.
Thank you and rest in peace, Dan.

Quote of the Day
" What’s important to realize is that it’s not the size of the base that matters. It’s the fact that, if it was truly threatened, the cost to add more nodes — people participating in the Bitcoin experiment — is much lower than the cost to prevent the addition of new nodes.” -Dan Kaminsky, Co-Founder at WhiteOps
