TD₿: Bitcoin Privacy: Best Practices by Matt Odell and Gigi
TL;DR A great guide on how to use Bitcoin today while preserving your privacy.
Hey Bitcoiners,
Bitcoiners are always searching for ways to improve Bitcoin. Bitcoin’s permissionless nature allows for permissionless innovation that will continue in perpetuity.
One area that has been the focus of bitcoiners for many years is how to improve Bitcoin’s privacy.
Privacy on Bitcoin is a bit of a conundrum because part of Bitcoin’s appeal is its transparency and the fact that anyone can audit the ledger. How do you preserve user privacy while also maintaining audibility?
Yesterday I shared a video of a conversation with Edward Snowden in response to recent news of increased surveillance and censorship from governments across the globe.
Today I continue on this theme by sharing a piece written by Matt Odell and Gigi on Best Bitcoin Privacy Practices (02/18/21).
Privacy is definitely possible today on Bitcoin, but it just takes some technical know-how to accomplish it.
I believe privacy will become easier and easier for users as bitcoiners continue to innovate on top of Bitcoin.
