TD₿: Bitcoin Portfolio Allocation Rising! - (a webinar video clip) with Lyn Alden
TL;DR: Lyn discusses the traditional 60/40 portfolio and how Bitcoin changes the risk curve of traditional investments like bonds with every cycle it survives and as the network matures.
Hey Bitcoiners,
Lyn Alden joins Nick Payton to discuss the reasonable portfolio allocation to Bitcoin rising along with the fundamentals and merits of Bitcoin maturing as an asset.
For the last 40 years, bonds have performed well on a risk-adjusted basis, but since around 2017, bonds have been in such a big bubble that yields reached nearly 0% in the U.S., while in some countries, yields, including corporate bonds, saw negative rates.
She also discusses the traditional 60/40 portfolio and how Bitcoin changes the risk curve of traditional investments like bonds.
With every cycle, Bitcoin is still here, and a larger and more mature network emerges — the Lindy Effect suggests that investors' sensible allocation portfolio exposure to Bitcoin should increase.
This clip was taken from a free live webinar hosted by Swan on February 22, 2024.
Think in satoshis. Stack sats. Remain humble. And ride the Lindy Effect right alongside Lyn and everyone at Swan.
Enjoy!

The Company
Swan is a leading Bitcoin-only financial services company supporting individuals and companies throughout their Bitcoin journey. We hire passionate Bitcoiners who want to work with a self-motivated and fully distributed startup team.
The Role
Swan is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer with expertise in mobile applications to lead the testing efforts for our Flutter-based mobile app, which is available on iOS and Android platforms.
As part of Swan's experienced development team, guided by an excellent product manager, you will collaborate closely with Swan's Senior QA Engineer to ensure a consistent and reliable user experience across multiple platforms.
While experience in Flutter testing is highly desirable, Swan also welcomes candidates with experience in testing React Native, native iOS, or native Android apps, as you can quickly learn and adapt to Flutter testing. In addition, you will need to understand Swan's Node.js backend API to test the mobile app effectively. Proficiency in setting up test scenarios, an adept understanding of SQL and relational databases, and the ability to debug/troubleshoot API code are also necessary for success in this role.
As a fully remote position, this role offers flexible working hours and vacations. Given the mobile team's distribution across the eastern hemisphere, flexibility to accommodate different time zones (particularly Central/Eastern European Time) for meetings is required.

This event is hosted by MicroStrategy, a pioneer in Bitcoin adoption.
