Job Description
We seek a dynamic and experienced HR/People Manager to lead our human resources function and foster a positive, productive work environment. The ideal candidate will develop and implement strategies that align with our company's goals and values.
This role oversees all day-to-day People operations at Fold. As the sole People representative, the candidate must be adaptable and capable of performing a broad range of responsibilities.

Primary Responsibilities
Policy Development: In collaboration with our legal team, establish foundational HR policies and procedures, including maintaining the Employee Handbook and Employee Benefits programs.
Recruitment Process Management: Oversee the recruitment process, including identifying hiring needs, creating job descriptions, sourcing candidates, coordinating interviews, and serving as the primary contact for candidates.
Onboarding Employees: Design and execute onboarding programs to ensure new hires integrate smoothly into the company. Act as the primary point of contact for new hires during their onboarding process.
PEO Administration: Maintain and administer our PEO system with support from the PEO team.
Employee Records Management: Organize and maintain employee records.
Employee Relations: Act as a liaison between management and employees to address grievances and foster a positive work environment. Conduct annual employee satisfaction surveys and provide actionable recommendations based on feedback.
Performance Management: Develop and manage performance appraisal systems to evaluate employee performance and support career development.
Compensation Management: Conduct annual compensation reviews to ensure fair and competitive employee compensation. Based on performance and market data, provide recommendations on adjustments.
Employee Benefits Management: Maintain and communicate employee benefits, including health insurance and retirement plans. Serve as the point of contact for employee benefits inquiries.
Employee Culture: Establish and maintain a company culture aligned with Fold's core values and mission. Create an inclusive environment that values diverse perspectives.
Training and Development: Identify training needs, implement mandatory training programs, and coordinate professional development opportunities.
Employee Events: Plan and organize company events, including in-person meetups and corporate travel.
Compliance: In collaboration with our legal team, ensure Fold's HR practices comply with legal regulations and industry standards.
Off-boarding Employees: Design and execute off-boarding programs for voluntary and involuntary terminations as needed.
Other Responsibilities: Perform additional tasks as necessary.
Requirements
5+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 2 years in a management role.
Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations.
Proficiency in HRIS and payroll systems.
Demonstrated experience in developing and managing HR policies and programs.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively at all organizational levels.
Conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Self-starter capable of independently driving projects forward.
Strong organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail.
Start-up experience is a plus.
FinTech experience is a plus.
Basic knowledge of Bitcoin is a plus.

MARA and Hut 8 Bolster Bitcoin Reserves with $1.63 Billion in New Purchases
Bitcoin mining companies MARA (Marathon Digital) and Hut 8 have announced significant Bitcoin purchases, adding to their growing treasuries. MARA acquired 15,574 BTC for $1.53 billion, boosting its total holdings to 44,394 BTC (worth over $4.4 billion).
This follows $2 billion raised through convertible note offerings in late 2024. Hut 8 purchased 990 BTC for $100 million, bringing its reserve to 10,096 BTC (over $1 billion). Both firms paid premiums above Bitcoin's current price of $97,951, with MARA averaging $98,529 per BTC and Hut 8 at $101,710.
