Operations Manager — OpenSats
OpenSats is looking for an operations manager to help run the day-to-day in a part-time capacity.
Money comes in; sats go out. Applications come in; grants go out. Sounds easy, right? Well, yes and no. We have some due diligence to take care of, some paperwork to fill out, some emails to write back and forth, and some buttons to click. We also have to compile reports, write some blog posts, and do a bunch of non-profity things that are required of us. We are a 501(c)(3) public charity, after all!
All that and more are the duties of someone who helps run the day-to-day at OpenSats, i.e., potentially, you.
Duties and responsibilities:
Help herd the cats that are the board members
Help stay on top of communications & processes, internal and external
Work with the board and the OpenSats team to drive our various initiatives
Work with applicants and grantees to refine grant applications and grant agreements
Requirements:
Strong Bitcoin ethos
Alignment with our mission
Good knowledge of Bitcoin & Lightning
Passion for free and open-source software
Bonus points if:
We expect you to understand what we do and why we do it. We expect you to understand the intricacies of open-source work, particularly Bitcoin. We expect you to be diligent and conscientious. We expect you to have excellent communication skills, especially in writing. We expect you to be self-determined, motivated, reliable, punctual, and communicative. Yes, we mentioned communication twice. It’s that important.
